About Me
I work between Heaven and Hell, as a self-taught oil painter and an iconographer classically trained in the Novgorod tradition. As a child I learned that every angel is terrible, and I’ve been making it everyone else’s problem ever since.
I am always reaching for that thing that becomes visible when the surface is peeled back and the things we lean on fall away. My works are a call to witness the beauty at the edge of devastation and an attempt to reckon with the devastation beauty can bring.
I hope in time I’ll be able to put better words to it than that, but images have always been my stronger suit.
